K&G Fire Training was launched in March 2000 and is a fire training and risk assessment company, who's principal has over 30 years experience in the fire industry. Based in the Medway area we offer our services throughout the south-east region and London. Our courses are informative, entertaining and individually produced for each client, with course notes and K&G certificates of attendance for everyone on the course.

Plans to open a Fire Training School are on hold at present, but in house training and Risk Assessments all over the south east of England are keeping us busy.

There are four very good reasons why every company should teach there staff fire safety,

1. Financial. Although all companies are insured against fire damage, following a fire there are uninsured losses, loss of trade, loss of key staff and loss of customers due to delays in delivery times. Many businesses cease to trade altogether following a serious fire.

2. Legal. Under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 it is the duty of employers to train their staff in fire safety and fire precautions.

3. Moral. Fire can have a devastating effect on the people involved, and if serious it could possibly mean unemployment and certainly stress. Employees can now claim for damages from any employers if they are injured either physically or mentally during a fire.

4. Environmental. There will be air pollution because of the smoke plume and ground and water pollution through the fire fighting process.

It has also been a legal duty for employers to undertake a Fire Risk Assessment of their premises. The employer will most likely be held as “The Responsible Person”. Under the RRO The Responsible Person may be criminally liable in the event of a fire where someone is injured or killed where it is proven that the fire safety standards or their implementation is not to the standard of what can reasonably be expected.
